ABOUT: JOHN H. Mathews

My name is John Mathews, I am originally from Ladue, Missouri. Previously I spent about eleven years in such places as Pittsburgh, Florida, Birmingham, and Detroit.  In the past, I have worked for some of our nation's leading real estate developers. We developed resorts and shopping centers. The companies include: Sandestin Resorts (IntraWest), Howard Group, and 

AIG Baker - Shopping Center Properties.

I maintain my brokers' license in Florida. When working in the St. Louis area, I focused my attention on luxury real estate and developing mixed use properties in St. Louis' premier Entertainment district, the Delmar Loop (my building located at 5850 Delmar Boulevard won an award from Landmarks Association, for quality historic preservation). This experience taught me about construction and improving the value of properties by making wise choices about what improvement projects to pursue and what improvement projects not to pursue.

In the past, I’ve served on the boards of Harambee (a not-for-profit organization that focuses on mentoring at risk youth, by teaching them tuck-pointing) and Missouri Association for Historic Preservation. I have enthusiastically volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and The First Tee (a group that teaches underprivileged kids golf).

I believe in a healthy balance between work and family. My greatest joy has been spending time with my son in various Florida destinations and our second home in the Atlanta area. 

At one time, I spent time at a vacation home on St. John, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, on a frequent basis. Additionally, I enjoy playing golf, playing tennis and taking hikes with my son. Additionally I enjoy working on home improvement projects - both inside and outside. 

I pride myself on representing my clients in the most significant investment of their lives, where memories are made, families are built, and legacies are forged.
